Christmas Gifts in Texas - Treasure Seeker Colleen!

Texas is proving to be quite the adventure! So much to see and do, so little time!

Treasure Seeker Colleen greeted me with two bags full of vintage clothes and jewelry and we decided to share them via a photo shoot! She has a great eye for all things vintage and fabulous and always seems to know my size and taste. The pieces below are from the following shops in Vancouver: JennyFleur Loves, My Sister's Closet, Value Village, Myriam Laroche's (Eco Fashion Week) Vintage Pop Up Sale, the Friends of the VPL Library Bookmark and a boutique in Gastown. Photos are taken on location at our Austin loft in Travis Heights. Cards of Fall/Winter 2013

Happy Friday all! Thought I would share a few cards I received over the past few months. They are mostly from Treasure Seeker Colleen. A thoughtful handwritten note can go a long way and will not only show your personality, but show you took the time to write something special! When was the last time you wrote a handwritten thank you note?

Here are a few past posts about handwritten notes too :)

Christmas in Austin, Texas

Hope everyone has been having a great holiday so far! I've been in Texas, enjoying a very green Christmas holiday :) As you saw in my Toronto Ice Storm post, I've been experimenting with my new Canon SL1. Here are a few pictures from Christmas Day with family, including Treasure Seeker Colleen

Austin is different than any city I have visited before. It's motto is "Keep Austin Weird"! Love the graffiti, food trucks, store windows and the cowboy boots! More to come...

Celebrating a very green Christmas!

Fashion presents as always. Fashion stamps!

Fajo Magazine Holiday Party 2013

December has been whirlwind of festivities, fun events and time with friends and family. When the lovely and very talented Hannah Yakobi of Fajo Magazine invited me to attend the Fajo Social holiday party, I jumped at the opportunity!

The event was held at the Stirling Room in Toronto's Distillery district and was well attended by 120 of  the top designers, entrepreneurs, socialites and brands in Toronto and Canada. We were wined and dined with wine and hors d'oeuvres and had the opportunity to shop some great and really unique brands. See some of my favorite brands below and the Fajo Magazine article here.

Toronto Ice Storm Aftermath - December 2013

Toronto has had a major ice storm! People are without power, transit is delayed all over the city and the ice seems to have taken over! Read more about the ice storm here and here.

I just got the new Canon SL1 and took some photos on an icey walk around the downtown core yesterday morning. Check out the photos!

John Fluevog Shoes and SMOC (Society for Museum of Original Costume) Present: Making Strides: Funky Fashions and Fabulous Footwear

Written by Colleen Tsoukalas (Treasure Seeker Colleen)

Friday, Nov. 29th at Fluevog's Granville Street store was the Christmas Shoe Tree setting for an eventful evening of designer shoes and dressy fashions, past and present.  Ivan Sayers, Vancouver Fashion Historian and Collector, presented looks from Dior to Balenciaga, from satin to fur and from head to toe.  Many of the Fluevog designs were also modelled.  The lucky door prize winner won a $250 gift certificate to Fluevog's and we were all very interested in  helping her make her selection.  SMOC members dressed up, of course, some even wearing vintage or modern Fluevog's shoes, boots and purses.  A certain piano teacher bought a superb pair of classic black pumps with funky, curvy heels, perfect for gracing those recital stages.  It was a fantastic night of learning about fashion, watching an expertly curated show and raising money for SMOC.  Oh and did I mention how much energy we devoted to trying on everything in the store!  This is the place to find the perfect shoe and the perfect fit.  John Fluevog and SMOC - a perfect combination and a collaboration that must be repeated.

Very generous (and much celebrated) door prize of $250

My favorite black and whites at the store

SMOC members always dress up!  Look at these black and whites!
