On Wednesday, September 29 from 6-9:00, I attended a celebration of Holt Renfrew'scollaboration with Marc Jacobs. The special displays of 'only at Holt's' designer items as well as their limited edition Marc by Marc Jacobs totes were both charming and very popular. The totes, in pink, blue, white and black, sported striking graphics as well as black glasses. A portion of the $48 for each bag is donated to Vision Spring, a non-profit charity selected by Marc Jacobs that
provides low cost glasses to workers in developing countries. Loved the "Do Good While Looking Good" motto which was very much in practice as the friendly and helpful staff (all wearing signature black frames) welcomed customers and enthusiastically cheered us all on as we played carnival games, (who could resist the great prizes, including signature HR umbrellas) ate popcorn and drank fancy lemonade, got our pictures taken and fortunes told and shopped in such brightly lit luxury. Special thanks to Lenirose and Carla who graciously found me a chair (velvet no less) as I am currently on crutches and assisted me throughout the night while I took photos and watched everyone working for such a great cause.
