Salute to Bill Cunningham, Iconic Street Photographer, New York City

Every weekend, I look forward to reading, "On The Street" and watching Bill Cunningham's street fashion video. This week, The New York Times, has been filled with New Yorkers' memories of him. At 87, he is gone, but his work lives on. Even here, in Vancouver, I see blue and think of him.
During my shift at My Sister's Closet, bits of blue caught my eye. On the street, a blue bicycle signaled that Bill was nearby. There was blue on the sidewalk. An Eiffel Tower brought his Paris to Vancouver. A mail truck thundered by, a blur of red, white and blue stripe. Green trees filtered through blue glass. An empty blue beach chair invited him to wait for just the perfect, stylish one to sit under the shade of the blue and white umbrella. A hydrangea and balloon salute to Bill Cunningham, here in our city. Up, up and away!

Oh and today New York officially named 57th and 7th "Bill Cunningham Corner" today! Read more about it here! We love you Bill! You will be missed, but will leave behind a wonderful archive of stylish photos!
