Vancouver Fashion Week - Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 Grande Finale

We all dress up for Fashion Week and are now inspired to toss the sweats and drab colors for the brave neons, shiny golds and dramatic blacks and reds, so prevalent this season. Hats off to our Designers, Artists, Photographers, Guests and the great Team Vancouver Fashion Week, a salute to everyone who made it happen!

ALEX S. YU

With a complete line of Designer Videos, each morning and many shows each night, you must plan to attend Vancouver Fashion Week to see the vast array of collections. Here are some from Sunday, last day but preparing us all for the next one, coming up soon. Sunday night had the grandest start with none other than our own, Alex S. Yu, who always lightens and brightens up the stage with his gorgeous videos and dynamic styles and models. Everyone dances, including the audience! Puffy jackets and coats, layers, neons and brilliants, fashion for all ages.

BERENICE JIMENEZ

From Mexico, this was a Bridal/Formal collection that was stunning! Fabrics and colors, so rich. Excellent models cast a spell of quiet contemplation. Please read an excellent interview with Berenice by www.oliobymarilyn.com

SUNDAY MORNING

Elena Garcia-Arquimbau Borras, from Spain, gave us TECHO HYBRIDS that would certainly wake you up early and fill your Sunday with out of this world color, fantasy and style. Electronic music, Berlin and Spain are all part of this runway show. More on Instagram at elen_sundaymorning

AY LELUM

I have seen  multi Award Winning Designers, AY LELUM-THE GOOD HOUSE OF DESIGN, Indigenous Fashion Week, here in Vancouver and also at Vancouver Fashion Week, but they have just returned from New York Fashion Week, via Global Fashion Collective, and do many local shows elsewhere as well as in their Nanaimo Community. This is Coast Salish Couture made and produced in B.C. by Aunalee Boyd-Good and Sophia Seward-Good and their family of Artists and Musicians. They are second generation, being taught and continuing the work of Mother, Sandra Moorhouse-Good, Father William Good and Brother, W. Joe Good. Their collection is accompanied by video, music, including spoken word and songs, art and more. Indigenous Modelling Agency Supernaturals enhances the Designs; the models walk with power and confidence. They tell a story of culture, language and history. Although they had a huge warehouse fire this past August, this collection was not affected and you can order from www.aylelum.com, in time for Christmas.  The photos give a vivid description. Watch the blog for a more in depth interview, coming up this week. Note that local Designer and Model, Tetyana Golota joined the grand finale performance of AY LELUM that got a standing ovation Vancouver Fashion Week, Sunday night. Thanks to Vancouver Fashion Week for Designer Profiles.
