Marco's Italian Shoe Doctor - From Shoe History to Shoe Repair 2011

Written by Treasure Seeker Colleen

Came upon a quaint little shoe repair shop and had to go in just to see the 100-150 year old Singer Machines and other equipment. Also, after seeing the prices of really good leather boots, had to get mine repaired. Marco's has all things related to leather repairs plus dyes, inserts, insoles, laces and much more. He suggests that those of us interested in shoe history, construction, repair and care of our fancies, visit the shop. You can call: 605 435-3522 and email: jembo@hotmail.com or drop in to #1073 International Village Mall, 88 West Pender Street Vancouver. In 15 minutes or so, (time flew by as I examined all of the artifacts) my boots were reheeled, polished and fabulous.

I have always been one to get my shoes repaired, as usually it is the favourite pairs that wear out first. What a find!

I brought two pairs of shoes here 3 weeks ago. One pair needed some regluing, after just 3 weeks the glue was already coming undone. I brought them back and Marco actually asked me $20 to have them redone. He was even somewhat rude about it...I totally recommend people not to go here!
