The Beauties!
Last weekend I went to see The Beauties! They played a two and a half hour set and had numerous artists come up on stage and play with them. Here's what I wore to the show! While I have been living in Toronto for over two weeks, I am still living with only one suitcase of clothes! EEK! The rest of my clothes are on the way though. To spice this outfit up I bought a silver sequined beanie, new tights and paired it with a fun printed grey belt. I tied the shirt in a knot on the side and pulled it off the shoulder! VOILA! Newly re-vamped!
On a photographic note, I took most of the images without flash as I was trying not to blind the photographers. They're a bit dark but I feel like they highlight the mood and setting of the event. Thoughts? We're learning about a lot of different camera techniques in class that I hope to apply to still images as well. Each of the band members took turns singing and I tried to capture them individually.

More Toronto
Here are a few more Toronto photos. I am settling in and getting used to being in school again! Hoping to get the fashion element of this blog back up and running again. I will be taking a web based lab at school that will focus on web design and am hoping to incorporate some of what I learn into Clothes Line Finds!

Kingston and Toronto
Well here are the first of my photos from Toronto! I actually stayed in Kingston with my fantastic friend Eileen for the first few days and commuted into Toronto while I was looking for housing! THANK YOU EILEEN!!!!! I managed to find a cute place just across the street from Ryerson! Lucky lucky! Toronto is amazing so far. I still can't get over the fact that people are so friendly here. They will go out of their way to help you or answer your questions. I don't think I have ever visited a city with such kind people! I also feel like the Canadian accent is a lot stronger here, but that could just be because I have been away from Canada for two years!! Thoughts?!

Black and Whites from Vancouver
Here are a few photos from my short trip to Vancouver. The director of our restoration project in Provence took all of his photos in black and white. I asked him why and the only answer I could get out of him was, "because they are beautiful!" I started playing around with black and whites lately and have found that they give the image a completely different feel, almost more dramatic. Thoughts?

Lanvin for H & M in stores November 23rd!
New York Magazine has just reported that H & M will be doing a collaboration with Lanvin! Fantastic news! The women's collection will be designed by Alber Elbaz while the men's collection will be designed by Lucas Ossendrijver. In the press release he stated, "H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public." Can't wait!

A NIGHT WITH GAGA!!
What a wonderful trip home to Vancouver! I was greeted by my fabulous cousin Elaine and my wonderful parents with the news that Elaine had won Lady Gaga tickets! What an amazing homecoming! When we arrived back home, my Mum had prepared fabulous appetizers and pink champagne! I got to dig through my bags and find all of the bric-a-brac I brought back from France and Japan. The next morning we went to my favorite breakfast restaurant in Vancouver! ELBOW ROOM! To all you Vancouverites...have you ever tried it?
The Lady Gaga concert was out of this world! She talks to all of the fans throughout the show and gives praise to individuality and freedom of speech. Her show was very inspiring! She had quite a few costume changes and each one seemed to be crazier than the last! Her dancers were also fantastic. It was more like a Broadway Show, but that's my opinion! She really and truly is talented. She sang all of her songs live and sang and played the piano for a few of her solos. At one point, she was playing with her hands and boots and the guitarist's guitar with her boots! Incredible! She also took time during the show to shine her magic light stick in the audience and choose crazy costumes and ask the fans about them. She can also scream just like the members of KISS! She would yell randomly throughout her performance to get the fans pumped. I never expected it!! You can really and truly tell that she loves her fans! If you ever get the chance, you MUST see Lady Gaga.
The feature on her in the September issue of Vanity Fair is a MUST READ! Thanks to the 24 hour newspaper for the third row tickets!!
