Sailing on the Sea of Japan in Yonago (Sakaiminato)!

Last weekend I was privileged enough to be able to go on a sailing adventure on the Japan Sea! One of my co-workers races and I went with her and her racing friends for a day sail! We left from Sakaiminato and sailed around the Yonago area. The weather held out for us and we even saw some sun! The wind was strong and we had a great sail! The forecast called for thunder showers and we were lucky enough to see them after we had finished for the day. Close call! I started sailing at a young age and continued right through to my twenties. I haven't sailed for a good two years and it was great to get out on the water again. I am starting to realize that I am going to need to eventually end up living somewhere near the water. Once I move to Toronto I plan on joining a sailing club to polish up my skills so that I can run a boat on my own! FUN! This post comes at the perfect time. Father's Day was just yesterday. It was my Dad who introduced me to the sport of sailing! Thanks Dad for being the greatest ever :)

You would be surprised how many of the words
are the same in Japanese and English when it comes
to sailing!

I went sailing last weekend. I love it, such an elegant and quiet way to travel.
