Fashion's Night Out - Sept. 10th, 2009 - The Bay Downtown, Vancouver

Written by Treasure Seeker Colleen

This was really an all day - whole store event from 12 PM-10PM. A $10 Beauty Gala Event Package gave you $8 off on perfume, cosmetics or jewelry and $2 was donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In the package were fragrance samples from Boucheron, Paris, Elle - YvesSaintLaurent, V&R, and Ralph Lauren Romance - Always Yours. Multiple coupons worth $25 off on footwear, handbags, fashion jewelry or accessories, a chance to have your make-up bag and products sanitized, plus entry into a draw to win a $2000HBC gift card made this a worthwhile purchase.

The event program listed these highlights: Micabella Cosmetic Launch, Dior Cosmetics, Chanel Cosmetics, Givenchy Playlounge, Treatment Room Open House (tour of Spa Treatment Room), hourly beauty product prizes, and Gift Baskets and Jewelry Prizes. You could have your make-up done and your hair re-styled while you shopped! (A $10 gift card for the Bay's Premier Salons was a bonus, for sure.) There was such energy and excitement throughout the store and the service was excellent! The Club Cafe and Lounge by Vera Wang featured appetizers and drinks and from 5-9PM hot appetizers and cosmos and wine kept things lively.

The Women's Exclusive Shopping Night, hosted by Nira Arora from The Beat 94.5 FM was free and was a popular place to watch Fall Fashion Trend Presentations: Fall Fashion with Luisa Rino, whose work can be seen in Eelle Canada, Fashion 18, Glow and enRoute magazines, Shoe It List with Catherine Dunwoody from the Shopping Bags and Good Morning Canada and Intimates and Shapewear with Crystal Carson from Vancouver View Magazine. As we watched, Prince Charming brought strappy heels for us to try and if the magic slipper fit, the lucky one got to keep the shoes. A Casino gave everyone a chance to play for prizes and to support the Canadian Olympic Athletes. A very patient and fashionable Bob Klettke showed us how to win!

The Tim Gunn of the 3rd floor was in good company with many other nattily attired fellows.

By the way, the Hugo Boss collection was also launched on the evening of this well organized, spectacular Fashion Event!

This is the third Bay Vancouver Downtown show I have enjoyed. Each one gets better and better. There is always music and I was impressed by the main floor sounds of Connecting Hearts Productions. Loved this year's appearance from Digital Cartoons, Custom Illustration, Portraits and Graphic Design by Mark Siermaczeski. You get your ideal portrait/caricature (you look your best) while you talk with Mark. He gets the best smiles out of everyone who sits before him.

There were too many special events such as the contortionist performance and offers to list here so I encourage you to watch for more fashion at the Bay!
