Project Runway-Episode 7

This week's challenge definitely required the designers to be more creative! They had to create outfits entirely made of materials from a Saturn car. The designers were given four minutes to grab as many materials as they could from inside the cars. Rachel Zoe was a guest judge and Laura Bennet (season three) stood in for Nina Garcia. Rachel Zoe now has her own show on Bravotv about her life as stylist to the stars. To read what the judges had to say about the episode click here. The intention was to allow the designers to redeem themselves after the uninspiring episode three Gristedes challenge. This challenge was well executed! What's your take on this challenge and the season as a whole? Has anyone watched Project Runway Australia?

Blayne
This outfit just did not fit right. Can you believe it's made of seat belts?

Jerell
This outfit is made out of a car seat. I like how he completed the entire look.

Joe

Keith
He gave the judges a lot of attitude when he was explaining his inspiration. He did not take criticism well. His look was also very bland and boring. Sorry Keith you're out!

Kenley
The skirt is an air filter and she drew the zebra print by hand. Kenley's model had to drop out of the competition so she had to adjust her outfit to a new model at the last minute. A job well done!

Korto
This coat is magnificent. Korto is a definite contender in this competition.

Leanne
She won this challenge! This look is spectacular. The detailing at the top is seat belt. This dress is made out of a car seat as well.

Stella
She missed the mark on this look. The two pieces don't go together.

Suede
He is still talking in the third person, but not as much! I like how he used different materials than the other designers.

Terri
This look is a bit boring.

Stars Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova of the band t.A.T.u are set to be the new faces of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2008-2009 campaign. Dakota Fanning, Chloe Sevigny, R.E.M., M.I.A. and Victoria Beckham have been featured in campaigns in previous years. Project Runway Episode 6

This week on Project Runway Chris March was back for the drag challenge. Designers got to choose a Drag Queen and create a look for them. This was one of the best Project Runway shows ! Designers were given a budget of $200 and two days to complete their outfits. Who do you think should have won?

Chris March

Terri
Her outfit was well put crafted and very unusual.

Suede
Suede did a great job designing this outfit for Hedda Lettuce.

Stella
Are you surprised it's made of "leatha?"

Leanne
I really like this outfit. I love how she played with textures and dimensions.

Korto
The skirt detaches! What a marvelous fire dress. I think this look should have won.

Kenley
I like the feathers, but the rest of the dress is kind of blah. She does capture the look of Marylin Monroe and old Hollywood glamour though.

Keith
Sorry Keith the judges are sick and tired of seeing your messes of strips.

Joe
He won the challenge.

Jerell
He is really talented but he missed the mark again. The judges complained that the dress was too long. He just doesn't seem to listen to what his clients ask for.

Daniel
Daniel, Daniel, Daniel. You're out :( He just missed the point of the challenge.

Blayne
He is still driving everyone nuts with his licious this and licious that. One of his wings collapsed on the runway as well.

Top Ten Fall 2008 Must Haves

Ok so here are my top ten fall must haves. I actually found it really difficult to find images because most of the stores don't even have their fall collections up yet. This was especially problematic for finding cool winter coats. What are your top fall must haves?

1. Something Lacey
Urban Outfitters $28

Minna and Drickie Store via Etsy $65

2. A Great Winter Coat
Charlotte Ronson $475 A splurge!

Marc Jacobs

3. Plaid
Tommy Hilfiger

Purple Plaid Taffeta Dress Red Doll via Etsy $85

4. Shiny Black Leggings
Members Only $88
Not sure if I will end up buying a pair of these. An alternative to simple black tights.

5. Riding Boots
$158 via Urban Outfitters

6. Minnetonka Moccasins
$85.95 via minnetonkamoccasinsshop.com
$36.95

7. Fringed Scarves
$14.99
Urbanoutfitters
Again, you might want to check out your local thrift store. You might be pleasantly surprise !

8. Skinny Belts
Gold Rush Belt $24
Urban Outfitters

If you have a chance, just stop by your local thrift store to buy a skinny belt. It won't take long and $2.99 is much better than $24.99 right?

9. Colored Tights
Bottega Veneta
You can buy colored tights in almost every color at H & M right now. They are only $4.90! I recently purchased a purple pair :)

Banana Republic - $14.50
A bit overpriced!

10. Something Purple
Ok I am not a big casual wear girl, but this is great for those cold days when you are going to class or just out running errands. Of course paired with a skinny belt :)

Why not try a purple purse?
