This was all about places: A new location. The Permanent, a magnificently restored 1907 bank building, iconic and classic, showcased collections from students from many places, being in that place between graduating and beginning new careers, places in our minds to which these designs transported us, families, friends and Blanche Macdonald Grad Show 2015 lucky attendees. And this was a very special place to be on a cold, rainy November evening. And, this is a timely reminder that the next show, another to bring sun, sparkle and Spring, is just around the corner.
The list of talented professionals, accomplished students and tireless volunteers, responsible for Blanche Macdonald's ever dazzling fashion shows, is infinite, but two who are always there to say hi and to introduce everyone to the next designers are Peggy Morrison, Program and Fashion Show Director, and Tyler Udall, Creative Director. Tyler's talent for training students to put together 'street looks' and to produce an instant show at My Sister's Closet, a special thrift store whose proceeds support Battered Women's Services, shines here.
