The Fabulous Fraser Valley Bead Show - Langley, B.C.

Written by: Treasure Seeker Colleen

Treasure Seeker Colleen was out and out about AGAIN but this time in Vancouver! Check out the fantastic finds she discovered at the Fraser Valley Bead Show.

Debra Kallen, a lampwork artist and jewelry designer, www.debrakallenart.com, makes glass candies, including suckers and chocolates, gumballs, jellybeans, licorice allsorts as well as many other collections of wearable art: bracelets, pendants and earrings. Her motto is: "making the world sweeter one berry at a time".

Thanks to Marilyn Wilson, Vancouver Fashion e-Zine Magazine and Nicole Stewart, I got to see the most beautiful, hand made beads ever. The site was a huge ballroom that contained a vast jewelry and art fashion show. All the tools, materials and resources for creating your own or buying the most exquisite pieces were here.

Kim Reid and Tyler Hayes own MYSTIC glass creations and I love the sea life starfish necklace as well as all of the other gorgeous pieces. Located on Vancouver Island at Sooke and Cobble Hill, you can find them at mysticglasscreations@yahoo.ca and www.mysticglasscreations.com Note - these would fit perfectly on display at the Aquarium, The Vancouver Art Gallery and at all Fashion Weeks - how about the Vancouver Fashion Week.

Faces and people in beads are created by Melanie Rowe at roweglass@shaw.ca. She also teaches mold making for flameworking and can be contacted through roweglass@shaw.ca

Gorgeous glass beads, and handmade bottles are featured on this card by Janelle Zorko of Pigeon Point Glass - www.pigeonpointglass.com and janelle@pigeonpointglass.com. She's from Seattle, Washington.

Loved the horses and other fine beads by Kerri Fuhr, the Empress Beads by Judy Mackenzie and Stephanie Ann's 3 dimensional visions and jewelry designs, too!
Robert Held is having a Pre-Christmas Sale and BCGAA Craft Exhibit, Friday November 5, 6 and 7th at 2130 Pine Street Vancouver. Discounts, live music and "Cooking With Glass" events, are great incentives to get shopping. More information at www.robertheld.com
