Living It Up at The Fraser Valley Food Festival

Thanks to Cassandra The Good Life Vancouver, family and I had a fabulous brunch and shopping day at The Fraser Valley Food Show, last Saturday! First we watched Chef Nicole Mackie of The Salty Fig Catering and Culinary Concepts, prepare our divine brunch. She is so cool and collected while she preps a meal that is a special treat, way beyond what we put together on the weekends. We had a bacon and smoked salmon salad, including Nicole's own pickled fennel) baked Born 3 Eggs, each in its own mini casserole dish (very French, very blue) grapefruit under the broiler, grapefruit Mimosas, Beer Bread and all of this on a little table set for 4, and a center piece jar with flowers and lemons around the base. Thanks to Nicole, we were well set up to visit the many food trucks, beef and sausage makers, artisanal gin and vodka producers, chocolate, blueberry tea, honey makers, and more, much more. I would highly recommend The Fraser Valley Food Show as a food, fun and family activity every year. And Nicole Mackie, she caters to houseboats, if you're on the Sushwap!
Thanks Nicole and Cassandra for a truly exceptional Saturday.
