Balmain Sheets:8 Vancouver Designers Make Chic Sheets/Eco Fashion Week 2016

The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel is a long time partner with Vancouver ECO Fashion Week! Not only is it a beautiful host site for EFW, but is also going to be a Zero Waste Hotel by the end of this year. And, instead of tossing sheets due to be replaced, into the landfill, it has partnered with 8 Vancouver Designers to show how sheets can become chic through upcycling and styling expertise.
Eco Fashion Week always features a number of contests to win tickets through practising your own recycling. This time, you could take old computer cartridges, batteries, used lightbulbs and a whole list of things people often toss, to London Drugs and they would recycle and add your name into the contest. It is a winner all 'round and Dianna Drahanchuk, guest photographer and writer for our blog, won tickets to the opening night of EFW 201. Big thanks to London Drugs and to Britta Bisig, Media Relations, for support to recycle and the opportunity to enjoy the most fantastic, fashionable examples of recycling, upcycling and conscious eco fashion.

EFW has its own professional photographers making us look fab as well as making EFW shine ever so brightly. Photographer Dianna catches Bijan, serious camera at the ready. And, then, the runway show that began with grace and elegance with this swirling blue gown by Evan Ducharme. Rachelle Louise Love's Spring, pastel dream floated down, next. (So much a salute to Spring and Summer - begone dull, rainy winter) Sarah Couture's gorgeous dress was so unique with hand sewn flower panels down the front and back. Evan Clayton featured a flirty gray and white fitted summer sporty dress while Jules Francisco's was a soft, long white sleeved dress that reminded me of clouds.

Conally McDougall's blue dress with white polka dots also reminded me of summer skies. Young Oak's creation was also a soft white, beribboned look. I especially loved Kim Cathers' sculpted little jacket, top and long skirt with cut outs and trimmed hem.

Wonderful to see designers and models paired up and walking the runway, for the finale. Here are Evan Ducharme, Rachelle Louise Love, Sarah Couture and Evan Clayton.
Chic Designers, Models and Sheets, for sure!
