A Luxury JORD Watch Keeps Elegant Time in Yaletown, Vancouver!

From the Frankie Series, Purpleheart and Plum, this handcrafted wood watch, by JORD, is a perfect example of the company's motto: "Moments are greater than minutes." Elegant Frankie, nestled on a pillow in a beautiful wooden box, was keeping time in another zone when she first arrived. With one easy adjustment, though, she turned her gaze to Vancouver and took us outside to the Roundhouse Community Centre and to the steam train, Engine 374. Bricks, metal, leather and pottery, created by artisans, strong, enduring, memorable, beautiful and always a part of a life well lived. Celebrating moments and keeping track of them.

Frankie sits easily and comfortably on the wrist. She is a couture design, lighting up any runway, suitable for wrists of all ages and sizes. She came with a guarantee of excellence and immediate, online connection if there are any questions. What more could one ask except, where can I find out more?

BONUS for you! We've partnered with JORD to giveaway a limited quantity of e-gift cards worth $25 each! If you've had your eye on one of these lovely wood watches, be sure to enter to redeem your gift code, they'll be good through the end of May! Montreal Museum of Costume and Textile Exhibition - Beatrice Marrelli Pearson Exhibit

This is a jewel of a space, one floor, a couple of rooms and always exhibiting something you wouldn't find anywhere else. It is special and the exhibits are beautifully curated and easily accessible. Ophelie Raffin, who is in charge of Communications for the museum, gave this information about Beatrice Marrelli Pearson, whose fabulous wardrobe was generously donated, over the years, to the museum.  Born in Montreal, in the late 1930's, Beatrice's mother and grandmother were seamstresses and so she developed a passion for fabric and style, early on. Hers is an eclectic showcase of hand-made, boutique and thrifted clothing and accessories. Her shoes, in particular, are to die for and in exactly the right size for Anthea.

Treasure Seeker Colleen loved this exhibit!

Montreal - Things to See and Do

Our whirlwind adventure in Montreal has come to a close and what a fantastic trip it was!

I had visited Montreal for short trips in the past, but never really had much time to explore the city. I found it to be vibrant, full of excitement and of course... cold! This was my first time spending more than a day or two in the city and also my first time taking Via Rail from Toronto. It was efficient, on time and had WiFi. For those who haven't seen the country this way, I would recommend it.

Highlights were the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Colours of Jazz exhibition, the beautiful Hotel Le Crystal, the Impulse musical, illuminated seesaw exhibition at the Place Des Festivals, the Olympic Park lookout tower and the botanical gardens, the fantastic Upstairs Jazz bar and grill, Old Montreal and the costume and textile museum.
