DAY 2: ELAN AND CASTOR, NARCES, MINNIE MOUSE PRESENTATION, MELISSA NEPTON - World Mastercard Fashion Week S/S '15

ELAN AND CASTOR.  This their runway debut so congratulations on an excellent first!  The stunning upswept hair (buns for ballerinas) set the tone for serious grace, and the flirty short dresses, in particular, showed the fun, after the performance party side of things.  Loved the shifts over pants, maxi dresses and intricately dyed, patterned two piece looks.  Beautiful colors and luxurious cotton, wool, silk materials.  Accolades Leah Antoinette!

NARCES: Nikki Wirthensohn, the designer, took her inspiration from 17th-18th century Victorian era birdcages and sumptuous, multi level design and fabrics.  Silk, knits, florals and lace, off white and pastels characterized this collection.  Such attention to detail and knowledge of the past added to now.
Loved the brilliant use of lemon yellow - a forward look to sunny spring.  The satin yellow dress is stunning.  Pearl embellishments throughout the collection, are exquisite.  Bejeweled and bedazzled!
Thank you for providing a one page bio and list of clothing descriptions - very helpful for learning and buying!

MINNIE MOUSE PRESENTATION was the most interactive and entertaining event of my three days at World Master Card Fashion Week.  Sponsored by Mercedes-Bentz Start Up and Disney partnership, this gave 6 new designers the opportunity to show their very creative, imaginative, beyond the runway, sides.  This was also a competition with start up money for business, as well as other resources.  Hosted by Samantha and Cailianne Beckerman, we not only met 'Minnie" but also saw a video of her tour of Toronto.  Minnie's dress history was featured in posters around the room and models on pedestals (of course) wore 2014 versions of her latest outfits.  Loved all of the dresses, and especially Sid Neigum's winning sophisticated little black dress for Minnie out at the Academy Awards or at Fashion Week.  Fabulous catering by Ritz-Carlton - gorgeous bites, easily portable and gave us all yet another designer accessory!

MELISSA NEPTON' S collection was all about work looks for Spring.  This was the urban career woman's wardrobe, sporty, casual but chic.  Loved the vivid blue pants and jacket and white blouse! Soft textures and prints and interchangeable, fluid but professional.  She designs her own jewellery and footwear.  Everything in one place.  I'm going!
