The storm has now finally passed in Toronto. We were lucky enough to only experience strong winds and rain here. Not going to lie, I did stock up on water, canned goods and snacks just in case. The media coverage of the storm and its potential effects on Toronto were exaggerated, in my opinion. Not nearly as nerve wracking as the Typhoon I experienced in Japan.
I recently received a Pentax SLR from my Dad's camera collection and have been experimenting with settings. I brought my camera with me on the day before and the day after Sandy to see if there were any interesting pictures. I ended up taking before and afters at Ryerson Park, although the only real changes you can see are the leaves strewn across the path. I love the vibrant colors of the leaves and the patterns that start to appear as you zoom in.
I have always been interested in photography, now more so with a new camera in hand! It's hard to believe I was just in New York a few months ago and my heart goes out to those who suffered during the storm. I have been following the news coverage closely, especially the images.
