On a beautiful, sunny day recently, we walked over the Burrard Street Bridge and ended up at 2130 Pine Street at the store and glassblowing studio of Robert Held, owner and Master Glassblower. We were drawn in by the live glass blowing that can be seen from the open doors and then teased through the white, sculpted entry to the gallery. Glassblowing demonstrations are available Monday - friday from 10 am to 6pm and you can book them: info@robertheld.com or go to www.robertheld.com to find out more. Brian Gebhardt, Sales Manager did a gallery tour for us and is so enthusiastic about the pieces and the history of the business. Love the fabulous displays and over all design of the gallery! The ceiling is full of stars and the white karyatides (godesses) welcome and beckon you to explore every inch of this magical space. Especially attracted to the jewelry, paper weights and botanical themed vases, I wanted to touch every smooth, cool and shimmering piece. If you're going on a 4th avenue walk or to see a movie at 5th avenue, you can easily drop in, feast your eyes and delight your soul. Enjoy!
