Steven and Chris: Jenny McCarthy and The Bloggers' Event

Written by The fabulous Treasure Seeker Colleen!!

This is the third show I've been lucky enough to attend and the friendly welcome, great music and lively atmosphere invite every audience (always a full house) to have a great time. There is a thank-you in advance for our energy. We begin by watching a video of Steven and Chris that highlights special moments and special guests and glimpses of past audiences. The video features fantastic sets, cooking, modeling, exercising, 'love talks' and famous guests. We are well prepared for another episode showing not only in Canada but in the USA and eventually world-wide.

A beautiful necklace in the audience!

Common design questions from emails are answered: How best to anchor a big screen TV (potentially a black hole), how to hide those wires and electronics, how to make small photos look as important as they are and how to make 14 year old Sarah's bedroom look even cooler than it already is. We know Steven is an expert at 'punk rocking' rooms, because he had a mohawk and the clothes to go with it. See, these guys appeal to everyone, so fabulous and so timeless!

Just before Chef Rodney effortlessly makes delicious pulled pork sandwiches, (yes, lunch was provided!) we are asked to find the most interesting things to eat in our purses. One of the prize winners has, yes, you guessed it, a purse candy from China!

To set the stage for Jenny McCarthy and her interview with Chris about her book "Love, Lust and Faking It", two comfy chairs are pulled around a table decorated with fresh flowers, S & C mugs and copies of her book. You know that she is going to feel warmly welcomed, appreciated and celebrated. This is not the hot seat! She is introduced as a model, a star, a parent and an author, who looks terrific. Her book is about being authentic, enjoying life to the fullest and learning - she is studying Buddhism and has a million other interests, as is very apparent from her animated conversation. Favourite quotes: "You don't need to have a lover in your life to have love in your life." "Never regret anything because it makes you who you are." She is a comedian, a story teller and a quick study - all very evident when she was asked to uncover three silver dishes, containing items from her life, and talk about them. The items were: chocolate covered strawberries, Polish sausages and Tubby the Teddy Bear. Just try to imagine what you would say when faced with this challenge! One lucky audience member won an autographed copy of Jenny's book. She will be eager to read chapter three, which Jenny's mother found contained 'too much information' for her. (Ha ha)
Steven the Bartender, made Pina Colladas poured into decorator glasses and edged with pineapple and other fancies. George S., yes that George S., joined us for lunch and we had lots of opportunity to chat with bloggers and show staff. This program will be aired on Friday Oct. 22 at 2:00. Thanks to Jeff for the energizing music!
The Bloggers' event was held right after lunch and we were introduced to Susan Taylor, Executive Producer and were able to give kudos to the dedicated staff who work to make this show so worth watching. Jamey, Steven and Chris were in the interview chairs and answered questions from the audience. There was lots of discussion about the enhanced role technology plays now. There is a facebook page, of course, email, tweets and blogs. You are encouraged to interact by emailing your questions and suggestions. In my experience, every communication is answered efficiently and effectively. (Thanks for being so responsive and interested) Steven and Chris - the names and concept is now a brand and the show is seen in Canada and in the USA. (Way to go) Bloggers' questions included: How to transform a space, both in a room or on a blog,
How to keep what you do interesting? Be authentic and natural - be yourself. Are you writing more books? Yes, one is in process now. What is one of your passions? Travel - fascination with South East Asia. Cultures, People, Design, Having our individual signature on and input into everything we do. I like Chris's choice of a name for one of his chairs - The Glenda chair, after his mom.

Swag Fairy!

As we exited the room, we were thanked by Isabella Penelope Paterson, "Swag Fairy" (Glinda
the Good Witch for Halloween show) who gave us bags of treats, crafts and coupons. Thanks everyone and hope to see a list of all blogs as would like to read them, after meeting their dynamic owners.

A hard working Ino, from Complexions Make-Up School, runs around with his magic kit, blusher here, eyes there, to make us all camera ready. By the way, he looks fantastic, too!

Colleen has been waiting to get this book
signed for a long time!
