Happy New Years-Pre Fall 2009 Favorites!

While Oscar de la Renta was my favorite of the Pre-Fall 2009 Collections, I decided to show case a few highlights from other houses. After blowing a fuse for the first time in my Numazu apartment, I finally fixed the internet. Thank GOD!! I was going through complete fashion and internet withdrawal :) Our friend Makensie is here and we are getting ready for New Years in Numazu! We have decided to match and are wearing black dresses with crazy tights and black boots! We are really really excited :) Leah is looking for teal, Makensie for blue and moi for yellow!!

Yesterday we visited a beautiful onsen amusement park in Hakone and tomorrow we are going to Atami Beach for New Years Day. Friday to Monday we will be in Tokyo! I won't have internet in Tokyo and I will be posting photos after I get back. I also have to tell you all about my first eye brow "cutting" experience! It's all documented with pictures :) Hope you all have the most amazing New Years you ever had :) Hope you enjoy these and I would love to hear your favorites :)

Ooo La LA! Happy Holidays :)

Hope you are all having a great holiday. Last night was our official first night of the holiday! We had a total blast. We visited a variety of places in Numazu and here is a photo from our adventure! It was actually cold last night in Numazu but not as cold as Vancouver! Happy holidays everyone :)

More Numazu Fun!

After an exhausting night of Karaoke and a day trip to Kamakura, we decided to spend our last day off shopping in Numazu. We visited this first store (pictured below) called Salisrama, which was full of scarves, jewelry and Indian inspired pieces. It's a great store and I saw a few things that I might buy eventually. I am really trying to conserve my funds for Tokyo though. We have booked our hostel in Tokyo for January 2-5 and our trip will include a lot of shopping, especially in Shinjuku! We will also be spending the beginning of our holiday in Hakone and New Years in Numazu. Things are generally well priced and there are a lot of exciting new trends to try out! I have not had the guts to buy one yet, but these fur hats (seen below) are really popular here in Japan. Hope you are all enjoying your boxing day shopping back at home :) I really miss all my blogger friends and really appreciate all your kind messages. Happy Boxing Day..Street photog photos coming up in January !!!!

Sorry the picture quality is not great.

My new plaid sweater that I got at a store that seems to be the equivalent of Forever 21. Except the quality is better ;)

Pah! What Recession! Oscar De La Renta's Pre Fall 2009 Collection Shows With a Bang!

With this year's recession designers are dropping out of Bryant Park like flies. Many are holding their own private shows and newer designers are finding it difficult to get their lines picked up by the big name department stores. This morning I previewed several of the Pre-Fall 2009 Collection and saw some great pieces. Oscar De La Renta Really wowed me though! His looks stand out above the rest and the detailing and workmanship in them makes them go POP! Oscar is one of the few designers that creates looks that can be worn right off the runway. Check out this magnificent collection..what did you think of it? I will be posting a few more of my favourites from the other collections in the next few days!

By the way...MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM JAPAN :)

These are two unlikely colors to be paired together but they look beautiful. I love the contrast of the two different fabrics and the belt.

Knee high socks are prominent in the Pre-Fall Collections. They are really big here in Japan!

Could be worn right off the runway! Sophisticated and elegant :)

The hats really added some punch to the collection!

LBD with a twist.

Cropped jackets with unique cuts were prominent in many of the collections.

Oscar's Gowns are always unforgettable! Magnifique :)

Kamakura!

Another magnificent weekend in Japan! It is only our second week here and we managed to get to the coastal city of Kamakura. After we arrived we went to visit a shrine and then we went to see the famous Big Buddha. Both sites were very peaceful and had beautiful gardens. We went on a Sunday so it was very busy! After the sites, we decided to head down to the beach, thanks to Leah. We had the most amazing time running around the beach and playing in the water. I am sure that you Vancouverites don't want to hear or see this right now! I hear you are under blizzard conditions. AIIEEE! But at least you will have a white Christmas :) After we went to the beach, we visited this random German pub and then a hippie beach hut for curry! It was a magical day.

There were so many surfers!

We had so much fun just running around the beach!
Even though we got sand in our lenses, it was worth it!
I thought this surfer was going to tell me not to take his photo but he ended up posing!
