Project Runway-Episode 9

This week's episode of Project Runway was a bit dull. Previously eliminated designers were brought back to help to create zodiac inspired avant garde garments. The only person who I was really excited to see was STELLA! Unfortunately she wasn't given very much screen time.

Designers were put into teams, given thirty minutes to sketch, a budget of $150 and two days to complete the challenge. The designers received a surprise invitation from Heidi on the morning of the second work day. They had to present their creations at the Rose Centre for Earth and Space at the Museum of Natural History to Heidi's "favorite designers" from previous seasons of Project Runway. They included: Daniel Vosovic, Kara Janx, Jay McCarroll, Christian Siriano, Carmen Weber, Allison Kelly, Robert Plotkin. It was exciting to see Christian again, but we only saw him briefly :(

This challenge revealed which designers are able to work well in a team and take constructive criticism. A successful designer must be willing to listen to his or her colleagues, mentors and customers. There were clashes, but all of it fell a little flat this week. Here's hoping for next week's episode! From the looks of the previews I think they are creating outfits for teachers? Who do you think should have won?

Terri & Keith-Leo
Terri was just plain mean to Keith. I think Keith would be difficult to work with, but he did genuinely want to help. She was determined to do the whole garment herself, even though Keith was the Leo. Terri got the boot, good riddance!

Suede & Jerry-Libra
Suede survived this one, barely! It looks very I dream of Genie and the judges thought it was rather plain. It was interesting to hear Michael Kors' state that Suede was too amateur to be talking in the third person!

Leanne & Emily-Scorpio
Leanne has been producing some very solid garments as of late. She won the last two challenges! I really enjoyed this garment.

Korto & Kelli-Aquarius
This is a marvelous garment. I am surprised that it didn't receive more attention. A job well done to Korto!

Kenley & Wesley-Aquarius
Ugh, Kenley, Kenley, Kenley! This is supposed to be Aquarius? Notice how the two shoulder pieces are two different shapes! This garment is terrible. Kenley didn't take criticism from the judges well. She was actually rather obnoxious in my opinion. She better be careful with her comments like "I'm going to tell Heidi how it is." I don't think anyone tells Heidi how it is!!!! Watch out Kenley.

Joe & Daniel-Aries
I really like this garment. I think of all the garments it represents exactly what it is supposed to without an explanation. It is stunning and I think it should have won over Jerell's garment.

Jerell & Jennifer-Sagittarius
Jerell is the winner! It is beautiful and the shape of the skirt is magnificent but I find it a little boring. Regardless, Jerell is definitely a contender in this competition.

Blayne & Stella-Libra
It is unfortunate that the designers who are the most interesting are getting the boot. Blayne could be annoying at times but it was all rather amusing. Michael Kors stated that the model was "pooping fabric." Sigh, sorry Blayne you're out. It really is a poorly constructed and totally bizarro interpretation of Libra, but it is definitely Blayne!!

That dress by Korto is amazing. I've consistently liked all of her work.
