Illumination Summer Night Market, Richmond, B.C.

This is a smaller and, in many ways, much more accessible night market. It is located at 12631 River Road, behind the Richmond Home Depot. Free parking and free admission for seniors, too. Lights go on at 9:30 but if you get there earlier, you can visit the many market booths and sample the delicious variety of treats, without standing in long lines. We tried the squid, the cold noodles and the Okonomiyaki. We saw those huge potato skewers and may try them next time. Food fresh and tasty and many free samples.

I loved the lights and the charm of this night market. A girl band, Smiles, entertained us for the early part of the evening. Great sound and talent from the young set. A 60 foot Eiffel tower transported me to Paris, while the food signs reminded me of Japan, as did the monsters of all those sci-fi movies.
Just a magical evening with great photo ops. The bear and Eiffel wished me a safe trip back to Vancouver. I will return!
