The Beautiful Fall-Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent

I have just started reading the Beautiful Fall recommended by Susie Bubble. Alicia Drake documents the rise and fall of Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent in Paris in the 70's. She was educated at Cambridge University and has written for International Herald Tribune, Travel and Leisure, W Magazine and Vogue (contributing editor). Lagerfeld sued Drake claiming that the book was more fiction than fact. She did not interview either of the men for the book, but she did interview many of the people in their social circles. Initially the book was banned in France, and Lagerfeld sought 100, 000 in damages and 10,000 for each book sold. In the end, Lagerfeld lost the suit and was ordered to pay Drake's legal fees.
