WORN Fashion Journal's Black Cat Ball

Happy Friday all! I am still catching up on posts from the past few weeks. There have been quite a few events! My Mom introduced me to WORN Fashion Journal a few years back and always sent them to me in her amazing care packages. I found out about the WORN Journal "Black Cat Ball" through the lovely Danielle Meder of Final Fashion and decided to go and take some pictures and see what all the hype was about. I was not disappointed!

The Party:

I knew the theme was Black Cat and I looked up pictures from the year before and everyone was wearing cat make up, ears, tails etc. I figured I would stick with the black and white theme and that would be sufficient. Plus, where on earth would I find cat ears? Never fear! They had cat ears available for purchase at the door as well as hilarious decorated tails. There was a raffle, dancing, a dj, and even an amazing black and white cat back drop and photographer. Everyone was in good spirits and it was nice to see support for this amazing magazine. I met quite a few people and took some pictures of some of the outfits, but saw many more as I was leaving. Everyone looked spectacular! You can see more photos from the party here.

About the Magazine:

WORN is an alternative fashion magazine dealing with concepts of clothing - "exploring the culture, history, politics, personal and practical stories behind what is worn". The magazine is released twice a year and based in Toronto, Canada. It does not report on trends or the hottest items, rather the issues that are affecting us today. To sum it up: the magazine offers something different from all of the others out there, "opinion and intelligent commentary that's untainted by advertisers' demands". The theme of their latest issue is hair: how it represents our personality or how we may be feeling and how it changes over time. I've now shipped it off to my Mum to read in Vancouver, but it was a fantastic magazine and I hope you pick up the latest issue!
