Reminiscing - Tokyo Fashion Week

Style.com is publishing runway photos from Tokyo Fashion Week for the first time EVER!  Way back when I was living in Japan, I had the privilege of attending the shows front row!  I remember receiving the stunning paper invitations in the mail in my small city of Numazu and then taking the Shinkansen train up to Tokyo.  I always had to ask friendly locals how to get to the venues as the maps were always printed in Japanese and of course I couldn't read it.  Everyone was always so helpful and pleasant everywhere I went.  Japan is truly a magical place and I often look back on my time there and the great adventures I had.  One can't begin to describe how challenging, exciting and interesting it is to live in another country.

My friends who lived and worked in Japan are currently back visiting, which is perhaps where this nostalgia is coming from.  While I have done a lot of traveling in the past few year, nothing can compare to the experience I had living abroad for almost two years.  I am starting to plan another great adventure, this time a short one; but it will be exciting and new and I can't wait for it to happen! I still have a while to wait as I'm not going until May!

Back to the point of the post which is Tokyo Fashion Week!  I wanted to share one of my favorite posts from 2009 - an interview with Yoshikazu Yamagata and a few photos from the most recent collections via the style.com website.  I hope you enjoy the imagination and creativity of these ever so dedicated and talented designers.  Bravo!
