Another Great Networking Event at Blushing Boutique

Written by Treasure Seeker Colleen

Blushing Boutique, www.blushingboutique.com had an inspiring and dynamic networking event to support local women entrepreneurs and to highlight their creativity and business successes.  Last Monday, February 27th from 7-9 or so, Shelley Klassen, the designer/owner of this beautifully decorated store at 579 Richards, Vancouver, welcomed us to shop her own latest, locally made collection as well as other lines: Blushing Designs, Dish Denim, De Almeida, Malene Grotrian Design and True Religion Denim plus jewelry from JFG Designs, Street Cat Designs, Earth Essence, Brava Imports and Erin Miller.  Accessories, shoes (I bought just the right gold heels there, recently for my daughter's wedding) purses and so much more.  Love this place for its always fabulous windows, great customer service, networking and party opportunities and art work.  This is a gem not seen in department stores or malls.  Additionally, staff are well trained, knowledgeable and often from far off places.  Previously, I had met intern, Sophie Sayu from Japan and on Monday met Tassie who completed her undergraduate work here in Vancouver and finished up more design work in New York!

We had lots of opportunity to enjoy snacks and wine as we shopped and then we introduced ourselves to the group.  Hearing about each exciting business, not only gave us new ideas, we also got the chance to talk to individuals, ask questions and exchange cards.  A lot was accomplished, thanks to Shelley.  I am always impressed at how well she manages to design, make it local, decorate, mentor, look fabulous and have such energy, especially since she is a new mom and will be starting the Kindergarten journey with her older son, this Fall.  The 'Diamond Dolls" I  met this time included: Jennifer, an artist whose work is always on display at the Boutique, Christie of Umbrella Events, who "has your special day covered", Lisa, who has 6 community kitchens, featuring 100% natural ingredients and whose "Cupcakes" were instantly devoured, Kirsten, an artist, painter and photographer, Colleen Costello, an IT & Web & IOS Developer and designer who can come to your door, photographer, Laura Lee of CityPhotos, whose goal is to provide affordable, professional photography, especially for families, Rashida of Bon Voyage 1,000, a luxury travel service and business, Sarah, who has developed and markets natural body care products: Sacred Earth, Janet, a professional organizer, (Estates are her speciality) Kara, a singer songwriter and artist (whose photography cards and feather earrings are fantastic) Hui Han Wee, a certified, Professional Coach: Empowered Essence- (inspiring powerful, joyful and abundant living) Janine, an artist who is organizing a May event at Science World and Monika, C.E.O and founder of mab ventures inc, art and entertainment.  Last but not least is Tammy King, an appraiser who can tell you the value of your gold jewelry and can also help you to host an appraisal party at your place."Diamond Dolls" is created and managed by MAB Ventures, Inc.  Blushing Boutique is one of its host locations for showing art and sponsoring various openings."  It was a very enjoyable evening and I encourage you to look at the website, read the blogs, visit the Blushing Boutique and come to or host an event.  May a gray, rainy evening turn into something to remember!
