Jessica Mary Clayton Spring/Summer 2012 Toronto

On the same night of Bamboozle, the lovely Anne invited me to a viewing of Jessica Mary Clayton Spring/Summer 2012.  There weren't any models, except for several visitors wearing Jessica Mary Clayton's pieces, mannequins and of course the lookbook photos displayed on the walls.  It was a very interesting concept, more like an art opening.  Loved the cupcakes and tailored chocolate bars and sweets done by Megan Wappel Designs.  It's nice to see some spunk and fun in a serious fashion event!

The collection was inspired by Ed Burtynsky's oil series at the Royal Ontario Museum and her home town of Fort McMurrary, Alberta.  Mary and Chris Bahry of Tendril Design collaborated to create a series of inspired prints for this collection.  "The beauty and softness of the images juxtaposed with their harsh inspiration are the backbone of the collection".
