Happy 11th Birthday Fine Finds!

For three days this month, Fine Finds, 1014 Mainland, Vancouver, celebrated its 11th birthday. This fabulous store celebrates often, with customer invitations and warm welcomes to drop ins, too.


At Christmas, they provided refreshments and Santa pictures for families and there were treats at Halloween as well. Fine Finds is where you find treasures: jewelry, clothes, hats, cards and a children's section with lots of decorations, stuffies, books and adorable outfits. This is a neighborhood place, a place where you go for conversation as well as treasures for yourself and the others in your life.


Jane McFadden's boutique started off as a furniture store but she soon saw that her customers were more interested in clothing and accessories and she redesigned the space around her imported antiques. The attractive design, window displays and bright lights draw one's eye right to the door and the body soon follows! I noticed lots of men buying gifts and being thrilled that free gift wrapping is standard.


Jane's store strongly supports the work of local designers, many of whom are featured at Vancouver Fashion Week and Vancouver Ecco Fashion Week. There is jewelry from at least 27 local designers and fashions by at least 12 fashion designers. The emphasis is on locally made and locally sourced materials. Lots of support for what is done exceptionally well, here at home, yes!
