Recently featured at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Gagnon's work belongs in collections and shows at Galleries and Museums and runways everywhere! There is so much attention paid to how the clothing will move with the body and at the same time, call attention to it. Everything fits, hangs, drapes and enhances perfectly. Leather becomes formal but can also be casual but is always colourful, beautiful and strong. Soft music complemented 'soft' knits. There was an atmosphere of reflection: time to appreciate how accessories and shoes were all colour co-ordinated and how the metal - zippers, buttons and jewelry -flashed sharp but infinitely wearable. For me, this was the stand-out of Fashion Week. The green leather with the fur collar and zippers would be my spring fling and ever a wardrobe staple. Visit Denis Gagnon's webiste here.
