Yonago So Far...

Two weeks ago I left wonderful Okayama for Yonago City. I am filling in at a school here for a month. I was concerned at first when I was heading out on the two hour train ride and saw nothing but mountains, rivers and small towns. EEK! Yonago is a small city of about 150,000 people. I was skeptical at first, but I have grown to like it..well enough anyway! I just miss my friends and the city. Nevertheless, Yonago has a lot going for it. There are tons of cool restaurants, shops and bars to visit. I am especially fond of Keike beach. It's about fifteen minutes away from my apartment. I ventured out last weekend. It's on the Sea of Japan and extreeeeemely windy, but it's beautiful! I borrowed the previous teacher's squeaky and very unstable bicycle and survived! Next weekend I will be going sailing with some friends. I haven't been sailing in such a long time and am very excited! I will also most likely climb Mount Daisen. It is much smaller than Fuji, thankfully! It's only about a three hour climb. That's all for now!

Yonago Station

Japan always has beautiful
artwork. This is near the station.

The river path I run on..or try to!

Yay! My first recycle shop discovery!
Can you see my dilapidated bicycle?

Mount Daisen

Keike Beach!

Fishing!

I climbed up on these huge cement blocks.
I think they serve as a breakwater.
Probably not the safest thing I've ever done
but I got some great pictures!

Surfers!!
