VanCity Theatre and The Georgia Straight hosted RAINCITY, Oscars on the big screen in Vancouver. And, yes, it was sprinkling and windy out so great to be warmly welcomed onto the red carpet. close to home.
Steven Schelling kept up a lively conversation about fashion and fun on the Oscars red carpet and Adrian Mack, Georgia Straight and Kim Linekin, CBC, shared their well researched star/movie facts and got the audience to make their own stage worthy comments.
The Bingo Game and prizes were key to the evening: someone won a $700 Film Fest pass! I won two free tickets and will use em up fast, either by seeing "Amy" the doc about Amy Winehouse or "Spotlight", both award winners.
Loved Lady Gaga's white dress/pants, her song and her powerful performance! Thought her song should have been the winner, but there are many more ops for her!
Signature Cocktail by Justin Taylor, outstanding, especially with the sprig of Rosemary! OPA!
Knowing yellow is a trending color, this year, I wore a multicolored yellow,gold, purple, white, black dress, with bell sleeves and handkerchief hem, (Rubber Ducky Productions, USA) (Value Village) and a yellow silk scarf (My Sister's Closet), flared black pants, bejeweled fascinator, animal print shoes and a smile.
