Metropolitan Fashion Week Gala, Seattle

This was a spectacular show, a farewell event that cascaded its way down the steps of the iconic Seattle Art Museum. Produced and directed by Eduardo Khawam, this visual feast featured many courses, and I have chosen a few of my favs to share:

Opening: Suitsupply

Welcome by Eduardo Khawam and Amy Yamada -
setting the tone for an evening of dreams realized through achievement

Fashion Designer Erick Bendana - Feathers, headpieces, fans, glitter - all!

Marilyn Monroe is still everywhere and here by Metropolitan Fashion Week.
Hand painted by Anahit Eternadi

Julie Danforth, Designer - Navy blue gown - color of dramatic night sky

Salute and Memorial to Prince, by Eduardo. Stunning finale to a beautiful show.
All models carrying different umbrellas in unique designs and shades of purple.

Special kudos:
Music
Hair and Make-up by Gene Juarez Salons and Spas
Models - who else could navigate with such grace and animation, all those stairs!
Kudos hosts and producers. I can only hope that farewells are like curtain calls and that we see Metropolitan Fashion Week back in Seattle, again.

PS We followed the request for formal dress for this invitation. Kate wore a floor length black and white gown, accessorized with robot earrings by Carolyn Bruce Designs. (A nod to Hollywood and Sci-Fi/Tech) and I wore silk by Maiwa and Amity Design Studio, vintage bag by YSL and, more nods to imagination and fantasy in Carolyn Bruce's Dragonfly necklace. (Instagram link?)

Thank you for the invitation and for the opportunity, Metropolitan Fashion Week and SAM!
