Blanche Macdonald Centre's ANNUAL FASHION DESIGN SHOW, Vancouver

Before attending FASHION LYRICS, the 2013 Graduate Fashion Design Collection at Blanche Macdonald Centre, I stopped for a hair cut at their Beauty School, Salon.  This is a sparkling, sunlit space, with hairdressers wearing black uniforms with colored tool kits just at the hip.  Very hip!  Friendly, professional and efficient service and get this, first a sketch and design plan- an architectural drawing, for sure!

Here I am with a shining precision cut, close to my skillful (soon to graduate) stylist, Megan Parks, and on my right, her teacher, extraordinaire, Kelly.

Later that night, at the event, a variety of fashionable sweets and refreshments were ready for the parents, families and other guests.  The very welcoming greeters would light up any room, any where.  Upstairs, along a long runway, were rows of seats, positioned for maximum viewing for all.  My favorites are only a few from the 23 newly minted designers, whose names should appear on runways and stores (hopefully local) soon.  Loved the imaginative, floaty and glam feel of the entire collection.  Very evident was exquisite tailoring, perfect fit, outstanding color and confident, statement making presentation. Accessories subtle and perfect for each outfit.  Stunning, stunning and parents carrying pink and red roses, oh so proud!
