On March 22nd (my birthday), we were all treated to a stunning Lucian Matis show at the One King West Hotel and Residence. The event included a Bailey's Irish Cream cocktail reception and the the latest Fall/Winter collection. Celeb attendees included: David Sutcliff (CBC's Cracked/Gilmore Girls), Erin Karpluk (CBC's Being Erika), Gabrielle Miller (Call me Fiz/Corner Gas), Natalie Brown (Being Human/Cracked) and Rosey Edeh (Global News).
The show titled "Monochromatic Fantasy" featured blacks, greys and ivories in felts, wools and silks. On his collection: "This season I wanted to focus on the simplicity of the silhouette rather than the details. Working with a monochromatic themes, I could emphasize the shape of the garments from an architectural methodology with boxy geometric shapes". Make up by Revlon Canada's Gucci Westman, nails by Revlon nail expert Leeanne Colley, hair by Tony Masciangelo and styling by Creative Director Zeina Esmail of P1M.
Lucian partnered with Baileys Irish Cream this year and created a Baileys Irish Cream dress to celebrate the unveiling of their stylish new bottle. The dress took 125 hours to make and consisted of multi-faceted beads and flat glass. Another beautiful show Lucian - Bravo!
