Comrags Fall/Winter 2013 - The Shows Toronto

Written by Treasure Seeker Colleen

Really loved the Program-Menu-List of clothing and models.  Very helpful to know names of items and well as models - gives attention to both!  Great after show talk with Joyce and Judy and Dr. Alexandra Palmer, Curator of Textiles and Costume at the ROM.  They discussed the use of exposed pockets, strong, detailed fabric in simple styles (interesting contrasts) and the complexity of construction and design enhanced by a maximum of two pieces only per outfit.  The looks seemed to shout comfort, femininity and strength.  Dark colors mixed with florals.  Orange was there but subtly in the Orange Wool Honey Dress and I was drawn to the blues, silvers and golds, usually in borders and softly glowing against the blacks and grays.  The Crush Jumpsuit was elegant and the pattern on the Wool Border Porter Coat was stunning.  A wink and a nod to vintage was apparent in the shiny gold anklets and in the Mary Janes by Fluevog.  Visit the Comrags website here.
