Marimekko Exhibit - Textile Museum of Canada

Love Marimekko designs?  You're in luck! The Textile Museum of Canada is currently showing a retrospective look at the company's origins and the role it played in creating a way of living through fashion and design.  Armi Ratia and her husband Viljo Marimekko founded the company in 1951 and it sparked a revolution in textile and pattern making.

Architect and interior designer Janis Kravis founded design studio Karelia in Canada and began introducing Marimekko and other Finnish designers.  The objects in this exhibition are primarily from his collections and archives.  The exhibit is on until April 21st - it's the perfect way to pass a weekend afternoon!
