Spend on Trend!

Written by Treasure Seeker Colleen

SPEND ON TREND, a celebration of Canadian Design, happened Friday, August 21, Saturday, August 22 and Sunday August 23, 2009. Nicole Stewart, Publicity, Marketing and Event Planning, let me know early about the show and participating Canadian Designers, "who ethically produce their work". Right from the invitations, the efficient and friendly emails, the advertising posters and the SPEND ON TREND Show Guide, Nicole truly invited and welcomed us. Downstairs in the Scotia Bank Dance Center, we were offered to have our pictures taken at the Photo Booth (PHOTOBOOTH VANCOUVER) and to have our makeup done. Refreshments and music plus an attractive and clutter free venue for the displays, made for comfortable shopping. There was both the space and the time to talk with the designers and to try on the jewelry and clothing. (I loved how they enthusiastically posed for pictures, too!) Nicole greeted us when we came in and chatted again as we left. Another friendly smile came from Maria Jose Hernandez Cos, creator of STRINGMAGAZINE.ca - Vancouver's Online Fashion Culture Magazine. (Have a look at this month's fashion books and helpful links for borrowing them from the library or buying them online.)

Nicole and Maria ushering in a
fabulous way to be entertained.
